CFPA has released the following statement to the media regarding the structure fire last night at Silver Sands State Park:
“The fire that destroyed critical infrastructure at Silver Sands State Park is devastating news as we head into the spring and summer seasons,” said Eric Hammerling, Executive Director of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, Connecticut’s oldest nonprofit conservation organization. “The restrooms and other upgrades to public services, ruined overnight, had been only recently constructed after years of effort to bring necessary improvements to such a well-visited shoreline park. We will support all efforts to rebuild as quickly as possible.”
