Think about the many ways you now connect with CFPA. Maybe it is Facebook or Instagram, the ‘CFPA Happenings’ event email, checking out a new trail on the Interactive Trail map, renewing your membership and making a donation online (please do this often!) …we can go on and on.
For the last five years, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has been our go to place for donated computers. The relationship was initiated by a supporter at UTC who made the first introduction. As CFPA has grown, so has its computer needs. When we need something, we call CSC first … and they deliver. Almost every desk (practically every flat surface) in CFPA’s office has a computer or monitor donated by CSC.
Technology is a two edged sword, a siren keeping young people inside and tethered to their electronic devices … but also a tool to inspire and educate. CFPA uses technology to connect with your love of the outdoors, to make maps with which you can interact, to educate you about our shared vision for Connecticut’s land. CSC has donated the computers that make our ability to communicate to you much easier. Our next step is to use videos to inspire you.
The most recent CSC donated computer station is awesome – a computer with a super graphics card, big time memory, and two large monitors. This station is essential to our ability to create video content you’ll want to watch.
CFPA would like to thank CSC for its generosity … and our two principal contacts, Tony Coppola and Jory Lund for their patience and work benefitting you, CFPA, and Connecticut’s land.
