"Art takes nature as its model."—Aristotle
The Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) has always celebrated the dynamic relationship between nature and art. So it was appropriate that CFPA’s new Winslow Society should hold its first official gathering at the New Britain Museum of American Art on November 6, 2014.
Forty of CFPA’s supporters enjoyed light refreshments, heard CFPA President, Eric Lukingbeal, Executive Director, Eric Hammerling, and CT DEEP Commissioner Klee comment on conservation in Connecticut, and viewed beautiful art in a lovely space. Thanks to Dr. Tom Gworek for leading docent tours of key pieces in the museum’s collection. The evening was a great success and will be followed up with a spring meeting and summer and/or fall hike.
The Winslow Society is a group of individuals who believe they can be impactful through yearly giving at the $1,000 or higher level. These are people who share a deep dedication to conservation and who know their higher level of support can have a substantial effect.
