June 27 was the perfect evening to be along the Lieutenant River at the Florence Griswold Museum.
Each year, CFPA plans an Art & Nature event for our Winslow Society. This event serves not only as a thank you to our dedicated supporters, but as a reminder of Connecticut’s natural beauty and the ways we interact with nature on a daily basis.
This year, the Florence Griswold Museum is hosting an exhibit called “Fragile Earth: The Naturalist Impulse in Contemporary Art.” The museum curator, Jenny Parsons, gave the Winslow Society a private tour of the gallery. (Read more about the exhibit here)
At the end of the evening, we heard from local artist Tony Falcone. Tony spoke about his life in Connecticut and more specifically his love of Sleeping Giant. He graciously donated copies of his painting of the Giant for each Winslow Society member.
We are endlessly grateful to the Florence Griswold Museum, but even more so to you, our CFPA family. We would not exist without dedicated donors and volunteers like you. Thank you.
