COVID-19 Trails Day Notice

CT Trails Day 2021 is a DIY (Do It Yourself) event this year! Because we can’t gather for organized group hikes on June 5 & 6, we encourage you to use our directory of 230 different sites below to find a new trail to enjoy and explore whenever you can get outside. Click HERE for info on enjoying the outdoors safely and responsibly during this health crisis. New to hiking, click HERE for tips on hike safety and planning. Participate in our Trails Day and support CFPA which maintains more than 800 miles of blue blazed trails in CT. Required Equipment: H2O/snacks, phone, printed map, headlamp, coat warm enough for overnight temps, dry base layer, hiking poles, rain gear. https://hikesafe.com/gear-list/essentials.This is a strenuous, hike, with just a few stops. We’ll take Blue-Blazed trails to the Broomstick Ledges coming back on part of the water company Genesee Trails as well as the Menunkatuck Trail, named for the first human inhabitants of this region. We’ll be on the southernmost segment of the New England Trail, connecting the Mattabessett Trail with Long Island Sound in the town of Guilford. Take pictures for AMC photo contest. Please cancel at least 48 hours prior to event as we will have a wait list.
