The Knox Preserve is a lovely and very easy preserve to walk and explore. Using Avalonia's Hike and Seek program (Check our website avalonialandconservancy.org/hike-and-seek/) we will search for designated targets as well as explore habitats and look for creatures that may live there. A smart phone will allow families to see the targets and follow along although it is not necessary to enjoy the hike. At low tide we will explore the shore line, walk through thickets, peek out over the water from several hill top vantage points, and walk along a meadow where we can view an active purple martin colony. As a possible add on, if conditions are okay, we may walk over to the Purple Martin colony for a closer look.
