Cromwell - Paddle
Three River Paddle
Sunday, June 2
9:00am - 12:00pm
Not 1, not 2, but 3 rivers in one paddle!! Amazing you say, unbelievable? Well, come along and you shall have bragging rights. You will see beautiful rivers, likely lots of birds and trees, possibly a beaver home, the mind boggles! The paddle will be over flat water, down the CT river, past Wilcox Island. Then we’ll turn under Route 9, up the Mattabessett River, and finally up the Coginchaug River as far as water will permit us. It’s a beautiful area, with a few bridges to go under and explore. We’ll paddle at a relaxed pace, enjoy nature and each other’s company. YOU MUST BRING: Your own boat (canoe or kayak) & a PFD. Boats & PFD WILL NOT BE PROVIDED, and are REQUIRED for participation. You should bring snacks and water, bug spray, and water shoes. Put in and some stops may be muddy, but heck, you’ll be prepared for that! You Must Be Able to paddle and control your boat over several miles, and smile while you do it! Good swimmers and comfort on the water are important. Typically, there is minimal power boat traffic in this area, and if there is, they are under ‘no wake’ rules, so paddling should not be impeded.
