Come explore the newest of CT's State Parks. Our trails will take in fine, pristine vistas of the Connecticut River. We will discover a tiny, hidden beach, along with wooded highlands along the river, and a small stream and its canyon. Mostly moderate terrain with some limited steep parts. We'll hike at a very gentle pace, allowing time to take in the views as we traverse many newly-built trails all around this attractive, little-known, and mostly undeveloped State Park. Bring boots, water. Families with kids 8+ experienced in hiking are welcome. Bug repellent may be helpful. No dogs, please. Very limited parking so car-pooling is encouraged. If you arrive right at 1 pm and the lot is full, you may need to be shuttled or walk in from adjoining parking elsewhere. Questions, call leader.
