The woodland trail will take us around Carrington Pond and by the vernal pools where we can keep an eye out for snakes, turtles, and frogs. There are a number of birds found in the park for us to enjoy. We have a couple of short, easy, and gradual uphills but there is no rush to get to the top. There may be some narrow wet areas to cross depending on rainfall prior to the event. At the end of the first loop there is a playscape and you can return to the parking area if you like. Those wishing to go the rest of the way will continue for an out and back on the paved road past the sluice-ways and back onto a dirt trail through the woods. We will end at the field where there is a new Native Plant Garden we hope has many flowers in bloom for everyone to enjoy. Bring binoculars, cameras, water, and snacks. If you wish you can enjoy lunch in the garden before heading off. We will go out if it is a light rain, steady downpour we will cancel.
