Tunxis Trail Gap in Burlington Closed

The Burlington gap in the Tunxis Trail has been closed, and the trail is now continuous from Bristol's Marsh Pond to the Massachusetts line.  Trail volunteers have converted the yellow-dot trail to mainline blue, and blazed a new section from Rt. 4 (across from Joni's Antiques) south to the yellow-dot's former termination at its junction with the white-dot trail.

The former mainline blue trail from its junction with the yellow (just south of Tory Den) going north to Rt. 4 (at the Fish Hatchery) is now the new yellow-dot trail. This section includes the beautiful "Mile of Ledges". Another new section was completed last year from Rt. 4 (next to Joni's Antiques) northward to join the existing mainline trail near the old scout camp.

This major trail relo affects WB maps TU-3a and TU-3aa. Please plan appropriately. Find a new hiking map for this section here.
