7 Great Vistas for Fall Color

Chauncey Peak, Mattabesset Trail, Meriden

Rumor has it it’s going to be a stellar year for fall foliage color. Thankfully, Nutmeggers don’t have to travel far north in New England to get a front row seat to the show.

Connecticut has its own richly forested landscape for leaf peepers to enjoy. Choosing to take a walk on a trail near your home over the next month is sure to put you up close and personal under a canopy of vibrant leaves.  If you are looking for the ultimate Connecticut leaf peeping vistas though, check out these seven CFPA Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail locations (in order by town) all of which are included on our online BBHT Interactive Map and in the Connecticut Walk Book.  Read the general trail description below. Enjoy the show!
