Winter Tree ID for Beginners at CFPA
Join Master Naturalist and fellow tree-observer Lynn Kochiss for a program designed to help beginners unravel the mysteries of tree identification. The first half of the program will be held inside the Meeting Room and will focus on how to use bark, twigs, and buds as clues for winter tree ID. For the second half, we will explore Highlawn Forest to see how many trees we can name using these clues.
Dress for the weather. Also, the trail may be muddy or slippery, so please wear appropriate footwear.
Feel free to bring binoculars and field guides if you have them, or borrow ours.
Sign-in will be in the Meeting Room on the lower level of the CFPA headquarters building. There will also be bathrooms available there.
RSVP required. We look forward to seeing you there!
This free event is sponsored by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA).
