Event Description: 

Bill Girard, experienced Game of Logging trainer, will lead this trail sawyer training. This is a two-day training (May 30 & May 31) for CFPA Trail Managers only. Anyone who uses a chainsaw on a Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail is required to receive this training. There is no charge for attendees. Trained sawyers are expected to follow all training protocol and best practices while in the field. Training will cover the following:

  • Safe operation and use of a chainsaw 
  • Saw maintenance
  • Bucking & felling techniques
  • Spring poles, leaners & binds

Please bring your chainsaw, gear, chaps, helmet, work gloves, boots, eye protection, water, lunch, and anything else you need to spend the day in the field.

Please sign-up so we can plan appropriately—attendance is limited to the first 10 registrants. Do not sign-up unless you can attend BOTH days of training and are committed to attending. Last minute cancellations are not appreciated.
