Event Description: 

Bill Girard, experienced Game of Logging trainer, will lead this trail sawyer training. This is a two-day training (May 28 & May 29) for CFPA Trail Managers only. Anyone who uses a chainsaw on a Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail is required to receive this training. There is no charge for attendees. Trained sawyers are expected to follow all training protocol and best practices while in the field. Training will cover the following:

  • Safe operation and use of a chainsaw 
  • Saw maintenance
  • Bucking & felling techniques
  • Spring poles, leaners & binds

Please bring your chainsaw, gear, chaps, helmet, work gloves, boots, eye protection, water, lunch, and anything else you need to spend the day in the field. If you need any of these items provided for the training, please let Clare know.
