Event Description: 

Join DEEP’s new Forest Practices Act Forester, Nick Zito, for a talk on everything you need to know about getting started with sugaring in Connecticut. Topics will include: Tree identification, site selection, tapping (buckets and tubing), vacuum system design and setup, sugarhouses, evaporators, filtration, and bottling.This talk is designed for anyone who has dreamed of having their own maple sugar operation, or for folks who are just curious to learn about the process!
