Event Description:

With the CFPA Ramble program beginning a new chapter, we invite CFPA Ramble Guides and potential volunteers to join us to learn the steps to create, submit, and lead a CFPA Ramble. This training will equip you with the tools and information you need to be successful in your mission to connect people to the land through the CFPA Ramble program.

For the second half of the training, we will take to the woods in adjacent Highlawn Forest for two different Ramble examples, "Dive Deep into Vernal Pools" and "Sensory Scavenger Hunt."

This workshop will be preceded by a morning CFPA Volunteer Orientation session from 9-11:30 a.m. All CFPA Ramble Guides who have not attended an orientation are asked to come to the morning session. Potential CFPA volunteers or those just looking to learn more about what CFPA is all about are welcome to join the orientation too.

Lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m. for our volunteers who stay with us for the day and RSVP by Tuesday, March 24.

CFPA Ramble Guides lead CFPA Rambles, which are free, fun, and easygoing outings scheduled every month throughout the year. These adventures are designed to introduce people to the great outdoors.

Each Ramble Guide is asked to choose and lead two simple hikes and participate in at least one training session each year. Choose a trail you already know and love or find a trail that is newer to you that you want to explore. Each guide is encouraged to attend our safety training offering, and all have criminal background checks to alleviate issues of participant safety.
