NET Fall Hike Series- Tynan Park/ Mt Higby Hike
Join us for a Fall hike from Tynan Memorial Park to Mt. Higby using the Tynan Park Connector Trail to the Mattabesett Trail. The hike will be 4-5 miles with good views from the Mt. Higby ridgeline and a potential side trip to the site of a 1954 plane crash. No real steep or long scrambles, but about 450 foot elevation change in about 2 mi. from trailhead to ridgeline. Pole(s) may be useful for trap rock scree along the trail or, depending on water levels, for one of the wider stream crossings.
Meet at 9:45 for a prompt 10:00am start.
This hike is being held as part of the NET Fall Hike Series in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System and qualifies as part of the NET Hike 50 Challenge Program.
