Event Description:

Join Beth Rhines, Program Director at the James L. Goodwin Conservation Center in a unique experience to discover the lost art of the Sit Spot. This observation tool increases awareness, calms the body and mind, and opens up a world of awesome nature sightings! We will be taking a short hike and participating in exercises that awaken our senses. During our Sit Spot, we will stay in one spot and let nature come to us.  By slowing down, we will be able to notice more in nature than we ever thought possible. Dress for the weather and bring a small mat or towel to sit on if you desire. if the weather is inclement or temperatures dip below 20 degrees we will learn and practice some awareness techniques indoors instead of going outside.
