Nature Crafts: Weave a Nature Loom!
A loom is a very old device used to weave fibers into cloth. We will take our own spin off of them and create our own “Nature Looms”. First, we will collect materials from the forest, then we will create own own ‘loom’ made from sticks and yarn. Then, we will decorate them with other collected materials like bark and flowers and ferns! Afterwards, we’ll enjoy the fruits of our labor and relax with some Solar Oven S’mores!
This free event is jointly sponsored by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA), Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) Division of Parks, and Friends of Goodwin Forest.
The James L. Goodwin Forest and Conservation Education Center were gifts to the people of Connecticut from James L. Goodwin, one of America's first professional foresters and a long-time CFPA Board Member. The Center is jointly managed by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) Division of Parks.
