Event Description:

This program is twice the fun! During this talk we’ll talk a look at various rock and mineral samples, discuss how the rock types form, and learn about the geology around Goodwin. We’ll also take a short walk to discover the rocks at Goodwin. In the second part of the program, we will explore the topic of weather including learning about temperature, dew point, humidity, pressure, cloud type, wind, and more. We will then discuss the relationship between these variables and the weather, and will use the variables to predict weather.

Troy Schinkel is an earth and environmental science educator at Central Connecticut State University and is a current member of Goodwin’s Master Naturalist Program.
