Event Description:

Women of the Woods or WoW has monthly gatherings for women to enable them to connect with the natural world. Most gatherings are hikes in the woods of central Connecticut. In addition to hiking we take the time to admire the beauty around us, experience some quiet time in nature, and enjoy each others company.

Women, join Women of the Woods, for a 2 to 3 miles hike at Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown/Middlefield. This is a good place to hike even if many trails are snowy or icy. If there is a lot of snow, we might snow shoe. If it has been cold, we may get treated to amazing ice at either the little or big falls. Our route will depend on the weather and trail conditions.

This free event is co-sponsored by the CFPA Rambles program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and the Women of the Woods program of Everyone Outside

As a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.

To prepare for a safe and enjoyable CFPA Ramble:

  1. Be ready to begin the Ramble at the scheduled start time;
  2. Bring water, snack, and your excitement;
  3. Leave pets at home (unless otherwise noted); and
  4. Wear sturdy shoes
