Event Description:

Join the Happy Homeschool Hikers of Hamden as they work their way up the New England National Scenic Trail. This series is targeted to homeschool students and their families as we explore the New England Trail (NET).

We will continue our efforts to hike the entire length of the NET by continuing up the Menunkatuck Trail. We will meet again at Route 80 and hike as far north as we can before turning back, unless, depending on the number and willingness of hikers present, we elect to move cars north to a stopping point further up the trail, avoiding the need to return south. Please contact the hike leaders for more detailed information.

As always, please pack water and a snack. Please come prepared for the weather conditions.

The hike will be led by CFPA Junior Conservation Ambassadors Liam & Jack, along with their father, Riley Flanagan-Brown, an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR-trained CFPA Ramble Guide.

Inclement Weather:
We usually hike in the rain and snow, but if we don't we'll let you know.

As a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.

  2. Bring water, snack, and your excitement;

  4. Wear sturdy shoes; and
  5. Kids, please remember to bring your parents or caregivers.
