CFPA Ramble: Tuesday Trails Homeschool Hike
Join the Happy Homeschool Hikers of Hamden as they work their way up the New England National Scenic Trail. This series is targeted to homeschool students and their families as we explore the New England Trail (NET).
We will continue our efforts to hike the entire length of the NET by working on a portion of the Menunkatuck Trail. We will start on Willow Road, but our exact route will depend in part on how far we made it on our previous hike. I anticipate that we will first hike south into the East River Preserve to reach where we previously finished, then turn around and resume heading north. Will we make it into Timberlands? Are you ready for a challenge?
As always, please pack water and a snack. A light jacket might also come in handy, depending on the conditions.
The hike will be led by CFPA Junior Conservation Ambassadors Liam & Jack, along with their father, Riley Flanagan-Brown, an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR-trained CFPA Ramble Guide.
As a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.
To prepare for a safe and enjoyable CFPA Ramble:
