CFPA Ramble: Tuesday Trails Homeschool Hike
Join the Happy Homeschool Hikers of Hamden on another adventure. This series is targeted to homeschool students and their families as we explore the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails.
We return to Sleeping Giant a month after hiking the eastern section of the Blue-Blazed Quinnipiac Trail to hike the other section, We will start at the map board near the main parking lot and water supply, hike down to the blue trail and take it up and over the Giant's head. If there is enough time we will continue on to the tower and likely return on the tower trail. This will probably take place near the peak of the foliage viewing - we should expect to take in some excellent autumn views together.
Please pack water, snacks, and a light jacket. Shoes or boots with sticky rubber soles are highly recommended for this hike, which will include scrambling up and down steep rock exposures.
The hike will be led by CFPA Junior Conservation Ambassadors Liam & Jack, along with their father, Riley Flanagan-Brown, an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR-trained CFPA Ramble Guide.
This free guided outing is co-sponsored by the CFPA Rambles program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and Sleeping Giant Park Association.
As a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year.
