CFPA Ramble: Tuesday Trails Homeschool Hike
Join the Happy Homeschool Hikers of Hamden as they work their way up the New England National Scenic Trail. This series is targeted to homeschool students and their families as we explore the New England Trail (NET).
This week's hike will begin at Clapboard Road in Guilford where we will head into the East River Preserve, a property of the Guilford Land Conservation Trust. We will hike north as far as we can before retracing our steps to return to the cars. The terrain on this hike is relatively easy to negotiate, so we might expect to cover a few miles, maybe reach the Nut Plain Woods.
Please pack water, snacks, and a light jacket for this early autumn adventure.
The hike will be led by CFPA Junior Conservation Ambassadors Liam & Jack, along with their father, Riley Flanagan-Brown, an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR-trained CFPA Ramble Guide.
As a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.
To prepare for a safe and enjoyable CFPA Ramble:
