Event Description: 

Explore a section of the New England National Scenic Trail in Guilford on this CFPA Ramble. Enjoy the classic walk in the woods featuring upland forest and rock outcropping as we make our way to Our Lady of Grace Monastery on Hoop Pole Road.

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. If you are bringing a child not your own, please contact the leader for the AMC volunteer release agreement that must be signed by a parent or guardian.

Janet Ainsworth is a First Aid/CPR-trained volunteer CFPA Ramble Guide and AMC Hike Leader.

 

Parking Information: 
There is a hiker parking lot on Old Toll Road roughly across the street from the intersection of Maple Hill Road.
Inclement Weather: 
The hike will be cancelled if there is steady rain. Contact event leader below to confirm.

This free guided outing is co-sponsored by the CFPA Rambles program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (CT AMC).

Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.

To prepare for a safe and enjoyable CFPA Ramble:

  1. Be ready to begin the Ramble at the scheduled start time;
  2. Bring water, snack, and your excitement;
  3. Leave pets at home;
  4. Wear sturdy shoes; and
  5. Kids, please remember to bring your parents or caregivers and the AMC volunteer release agreement (contact leader for more information).
