Event Description:

Bring your curiosity! We will observe the amazing transformations that occur in vernal pools during several guided outings throughout the spring. Come to one outing or come to many, to see a wonderful array of creatures found in vernal pools this time of year; including frogs, salamander and frog eggs, tadpoles, salamanders, fairy shrimp, insect larvae, and more! Viewing scopes will be available.

Space is limited for this popular program therefore registration is required. To register for Frog Fridays, please visit the Frog Friday Registration Form

We are happy to announce that this year we are able to increase the number of Frog Fridays available due to the addition of the Flanagan-Brown Boys as Ramble Guides leading these events. Some of these programs will be led by Everyone Outside founder and CFPA Ramble Guide Lucy Meigs and others will be led by Junior Conservation Ambassador Liam Flanagan-Brown and his brother Jack, along with their father, CFPA Ramble Guide Riley Flanagan-Brown. Please note in the list below and the title of the event who will be leading each Ramble.

Participants are advised to wear boot or old shoes and clothes that are OK to get dirty as there can be muddy areas. If you have polarized sunglasses, please bring them; they are helpful to see into the water, since there are reflections. To the parents, thank you in advance for helping to keep the children out of the water.

*For the March Frog Fridays: We are hoping the conditions will have warmed enough that the wood frogs will be back and "quacking" loudly to look for a mate. Due to weather the March 20th Frog Friday was cancelled. If the cold conditions persist, the March 27th hike will still take place without the frogs and will focus on looking for signs of spring in the woods with the Flanagan-Brown Boys as the leaders. Registration is required for all Frog Fridays and all registrants will be notified of the cancellation by noon the day of the event.

Please note there are no Frog Fridays on 04/17/15, 05/08/15, or 05/29/15.
