CFPA Ramble: Explore American Legion Peoples State Forest with FALPS
Join Friends of American Legion Peoples State Forest (FALPS) on a family-friendly hike along the Charles Pack Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail.
Enjoy a moderate-to-easy approximately 2 mile hike along the trail. We will cross a wooden bridge at the southern end of the Beaver Marsh (side trail along the Green Trail to an overlook); pass by the Charcoal Hearth Archeological Preserve; then an old barn foundation; a CCC fire pond; then finishing the hike at the Big Spring Picnic and group camping area.
Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times while in the state forest.
The group may go have lunch, with anyone interested, at the Riverton General Store.
This free guided outing is co-sponsored by the CFPA Rambles program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and Friends of American Legion Peoples State Forest (FALPS).
