Event Description: 

Chatfield Hollow State Park features soft pine forests, rocky ledges and a beautiful pond nestled in the valley carved out by glaciers. Join us on a family-friendly hike exploring this great State Park. For more information about the State Park visit DEEP's page: www.ct.gov/deep/chatfieldhollow.

If there is snow or ice on the ground where you live, bring traction devices.  The hike will cancel if there is steady rain or dangerous driving conditions.  If you are bringing a child not your own, please contact the leader for the AMC volunteer release agreement that must be signed by a parent or guardian.

As program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.

To prepare for a safe and enjoyable CFPA Ramble:

  1. Be ready to begin the Ramble at the scheduled start time;
  2. Bring water, snack, and your excitement;
  3. Leave pets at home (unless otherwise noted);
  4. Wear sturdy shoes; and
  5. Kids, please remember to bring your parents or caregivers.
