CFPA Ramble: Black Friday Hike
Put those Thanksgiving calories to good use and opt for being outside on Black Friday!
Join Justin Mack on an adventure up Mt. Tom in New Milford (no, not the state park!) We'll follow Pratt Nature Center's White and Orange Trails up to the summit for beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and then head back down, looping around the other side of the mountain.
At a slow to average pace, this hike takes about 2 hours, covers about 3.5 miles of trail in a loop and goes up to an elevation of 1,040 feet at the summit. Some sections are steep but we've seen kids as young as four climb to the top! Be sure to wear sturdy shoes. No dogs, please.
Justin Mack is the Program Director at the Pratt Nature Center and an American Heart Association First Aid/CPR-trained CFPA Ramble Guide.
This free event is co-sponsored by the Pratt Nature Center and the CFPA Rambles program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA).
As a program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.
