CFPA Ramble: Barefoot Hike at Miller's Pond State Park
Join us at Miller's Pond State Park as we go on a Barefoot Ramble. Barefoot hiking brings one closer to nature and truly in contact with the land. The trails at Miller's Pond are gentle in slope and offer a wonderful opportunity to "get your feet wet" with barefoot hiking. For those of you new to barefoot hiking, check out these resources: Beginners Guide to Barefoot Hiking and The Barefoot Hiker by CT's own Richard Frazine.
We will meet at the parking area for Miller's Pond State Park, located off of Foot Hills Road in Durham, CT. The hike will start at 10:15 p.m. so please be prompt. Feel free to bring a lunch or go for a dip in Miller's Pond at the completion of the hike.
Being barefoot it not required to join us at this Ramble but it highly recommended.
This free guided outing is co-sponsored by the CFPA Rambles program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and The Barefoot Hikers of Connecticut.
As program of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, CFPA Rambles are intended to bring people, fun, and the outdoors together. Led by trained CFPA Ramble Guides, these FREE, engaging outings are offered on trails around the state every month throughout the year. Each CFPA Ramble is designed to show the people of Connecticut how easy and enjoyable a ramble can be and to feature the many different outdoor opportunities our state has to offer.
To prepare for a safe and enjoyable CFPA Ramble:
- Be ready to begin the Ramble at the scheduled start time;
- Bring water, snack, and your excitement;
