Autumn Tree ID for Beginners at CFPA
Master Naturalist and fellow-tree-observer Lynn Kochiss thinks Autumn is the best time to examine trees! The leaves are still out, and the fall colors and fruit provide unique indicators for species. Add these clues to using bark, twigs, and buds, and you will feel like a tree expert. The first half of the program will be an introduction to Tree ID inside the CFPA meeting room, after which we will wander the trails of Highlawn Forest, stopping often to identify trees.
Dress for the weather. Also, the trail may be muddy or slippery, so please wear appropriate footwear.
Feel free to bring binoculars and field guides if you have them, or borrow ours.
RSVP required. We look forward to seeing you there!
This free event is sponsored by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA).
