WalkCT Family Ramble: Historic Hike

Where:
Highland Park, Spring Street, Manchester
When:
Saturday, July 31, 2010 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Event Info:

Explore the historic Case Brothers district and take a 3-mile hike to the summit of Case Mountain in the Highland Park section of Manchester. Enjoy many sights such as a waterfall, stone walls, carriage path, and Case mansions, as well as forest and ponds. Wear sturdy shoes or sneakers and expect some steep climbs and bumpy terrain. The ramble will take about two hours. Participants in this moderately strenuous hike will learn basic hiking skills and, depending on the weather, view the Hartford skyline from the summit of Case Mountain. We will view property owned by the Town of Manchester and by the Manchester Land Conservation Trust. Children and families are especially welcome. Singles are also welcome.

Pre-registration is welcome, but not required for this WalkCT Family Ramble. To pre-register, contact CFPA at (860) 346-2372 or info@ctwoodlands.org.

No rain date, so bring an umbrella if light rain. Heavy rain cancels. Be ready to begin the Ramble at the scheduled start time.
