Mattabesett Trail- Rt 66 to Spruce Brook Rd, Middletown & Meriden- Trail Relocation

The three mile walk between the Country Club Road trailhead in Middletown and Giuffrida Park in Meriden has been largely replaced by new trail footage across Middlesex Land Trust property, Middletown open space and Meriden Water Department land. The new trail takes you along the back side of Highland Pond and then through the grounds and past the last remaining remnants of Highland Golf Course & Country Club popular in the 1930s.  The trail then turns southerly and brings you to the base of the ridge walk past Cresent Lake and on to Chauncey Peak.  From there you descend to the dam and parking lot in Giuffrida Park before proceeding out to the summit of Lamintation Mountain.
