TUNXIS TRAIL, Burlington Region, Plymouth- Logging Notice

A timber harvest on the Bristol Water property is scheduled for the next several weeks.  The logging equipment will access the harvest via the Blue/Yellow side trail off the Tunxis Trail (map TU-3a). Equipment and log trucks will be removing timber from this access point.  For safety reasons hikers are encouraged to avoid the logging equipment and trucks as well as avoid this section of trail for the duration of the harvest.  The trail is to be closed to hiking from Sun-up until 2:00 PM Monday-Saturday for the duration of the harvest (approx 4-6 weeks).

Please avoid the parking area where logs are removed and blocking equipment access.

The harvest is marked to salvage timber damaged by a forest fire and to provide adequate conditions to regenerate native tree species.
