Logging near Metacomet Trail in Southington

New Britain Water Department is conducting a timber harvest northwest of Shuttle Meadow Reservoir.  There will be a buffer so the trail is not affected, but hikers are cautioned that the trail crosses a woods road that will be used by logging trucks and equipment.  The logging will end in February 2010.
