Quinnipiac Trail, Hamden, Trail Route Notice

Due to clear-cutting in the vicinity of Rocky Top Rd, we recommend that hikers stay on Rocky Top Rd until Sherman Ave then walk North on the bike path to West Woods Rd. From here hikers can pick up the Quinnipiac Trail again and continue toward Sleeping Giant State Park.

The Quinnipiac University project, where the trail intersects Kimberly Road, is complete but just down the road is a major road realignment project. This is part of the reason for our recommendation that hikers stay on Rocky Top Rd.
