Event Info:

We'll start from the Historic Lenticular Pony Truss Bridge at Lions Park in South Meriden. After studying the information board, we'll walk along the scenic Quinnipiac River Gorge. Along the way we'll spot native plants, rock formations, scenic river overlooks, and a broken down foundation from an old mill that creates some interesting rapids. There is also an old railroad bridge foundation that carried trains from Waterbury to Meriden's Hanover Pond Amusement Area. Roundtrip walking distance is 2.8 easy miles with plenty of benches to rest on. If we're lucky, we might even spot one of the bald eagles that visit Hanover Pond.
