A two-mile hike for those interested in natural surroundings on the northernmost section of lava and brownstone Metacomet ridge in Connecticut. There are several views and some easy hills as we pass the ruins of a 19th century country home, but it is flatter than most other sections of the ridge. We should see some spring wildflowers and birds on this walk through hemlock and oak forest. We will turn back at a lookout with views of the Farmington River valley. Rain cancels, Family Guide: Mike Stanley 860-668-5304, or HIKELIKEMIKE@AOL.COM for questions.
