Don't Miss The Connecticut Forest Forum, Nov. 22nd

Join us for the 7th Annual Forest Forum and learn about the leading management, policy, and science issues in Connecticut's forests.  As a bonus, learn about international forestry issues as a way of celebrating the International Year of Forests.

Forest

2011 has been declared the International Year of Forests by the United Nations. Their resolution recognizes that forests are vital to the survival and well being of people everywhere, all 7 billion of us. It also calls for strengthening “the sustainable management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests for the benefit of current and future generations.”

The goal of our Connecticut Forest Forum has always been to do just that. We know that forests provide habitat, food, fiber, medicine, and clean water; and play a vital role in maintaining a stable climate and environment. Sustainable forests do all that in perpetuity.

This year’s Forum will build on last year’s exploration of the vision of our forests' future and get specific about advancing the sustainability agenda. We’ll discuss the why’s and how’s of sustainable forest management as practiced in Connecticut. We’ll also talk about how to tell that sustainable forest practices are working, and about innovative funding opportunities for forest conservation.

Registration is $25 and includes parking, lunch, and snacks. For more information and to register for the November 22nd event held at Yale, click here to view the CT Forest Forum brochure. Please complete and return the brochure's registration form with payment to: CFPA; Forest Forum 2011; 16 Meriden Road; Rockfall, CT 06481. Contact Terri Peters at (860) 346-TREE with any questions.
