Hammerling has joined the Connecticut Forest & Park
Association as its new
Executive Director.
Eric
Hammerling has joined the Connecticut Forest & Park
Association, the state’s oldest conservation organization, as its new
Executive Director. Formally the Executive Director of the
Farmington River Watershed Association (“FRWA”), Mr. Hammerling begin
his new job on May 5th. Mr. Hammerling succeeds
Adam R.
Moore (CFPA’s Executive Director for the past 7 years), who leaves CFPA
in May to become the Executive Director of the Sheriff’s Meadow
Foundation, the land trust for Martha’s Vineyard.
Mr. Hammerling served as Executive Director of the Farmington River
Watershed Association for the last five years. He is also president of
the Board of Rivers Alliance of Connecticut and, through FRWA, has been
the forcebehind the study of the Lower Farmington River and Salmon
Brook as potential Wild & Scenic Rivers. He has significant
experience working with the Connecticut General Assembly on
environmental issues and is a former Congressional Environmental Aide.
A resident of West Hartford, Mr.
Hammerling holds an M.S. in Range Management/Environmental Science from
the University of California at Berkeley and a B.A. in History from the
University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
According to CFPA President David Platt, "CFPA is very excited to
welcome Eric Hammerling to the organization. Eric brings significant
experience and broad talents to the table, and these attributes will be
instrumental in helping CFPA to advance its important mission."
